How to emove Fuel Door Vacuum Element?
Car: 1989 260E
How do I remove the fuel door vacuum element? Mine has a leak and I bypassed it by connecting the vacuum lines that go into/out of it to each other. Now I am wondering how to get the element out so I can repair or replace it.

I've never changed the one on my dad's, but I would bet it's accessible through the trunk. The trunk liner has to be pulled out, then it will all hopefully come to you.
Thanks David

David, thanks.
I can get to it OK, and have disconnected the vacuum hoses to it, but cannot see how it is attyached. I may need to do my contortionist act later to see how it goes in there.

I have the same problem. Looks like it is removed by presing a tab up and away from the element.
I am trying it later today....
