124 climate control illumination out & other gauge problems
After removing the instrument cluster on my '87 300E, the tach and oil pressure gauges and right turn signal indicator bulb stopped working. I fixed the oil press and tach by running a ground wire from the back of the tach housing. But that didn't fix the right turn signal indicator. I'm certain it has something to do with a lack of good ground but how do I ground it (it is on a very little circuit board that only has the right side instrument illumination bulb and the flasher). The other problem is that after the first round of revoving the console, I noticed my climate control unit has no illumination. Any ideas how to get this working again? I'm pretty sure this was caused by the cluster removal also but there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to do a new ground for those lights. Thanks for any help and sorry for the rambling message.

Are you sure that the big round connector and all of the other connectors are on correctly? There are two or three smaller connectors that could be put in wrong or not seated all the way.
As for the climate control light, the only connection I remember for that is the two rectangular connections. They are either not in correctly, or you have a burned out bulb(s.) Good luck, |
