I've noticed that the recirulator button on my climate control only lights up sometimes when I push the button. Is there any reason that it does this on an intermitten basis and not all of the time?

could be one of two bulbs inside that illuminates climate control unit. it is a pain to replace those bulbs, hope you have the patience!

How can you tell if this function is actually working? When the light comes on, what am I suppose to notice?

You wil hear a change in the sound of the air.

Recirc will engage for 30min when the compressor is engaged and 5min when the compressor isn't engaged. If it's hot out or the cabin isn't at a comfortable temp yet, the system might have recirc engaged so you won't be able to tell that anything happens when you press the button.
