With Radiator out, what else should be replaced?

The neck broke on the radiator on my 88 300 ce. I'm planning on replacing the belt tensioner at the same time. Is it advisable to do the water pump since I'll be in there anyway? ( I bought the car one yr ago & I don't know how old the water pump is; is there any way to tell?) The car seems to run a bit hot, but it could be the radiator. I'll also do the alternator ( 70 amp) - I replaced the voltage regulator 3 months ago after the car wouldn't start & the battery (3 yrs old on a 7 yr battery) kept dieing, but this weekend the dashboard lights came on whenever the car slowed to a stop & went off when I accelerated or revved the engine Measured voltage w/engine off- 12.5; with engine on & heater, headlights also on, measured 12.2 volts. Anything else I should replace ? Should I upgrade to an 80 amp alternator? the cost is about the same, except I would need to get a new alternator wiring harness. Thanks for your thoughts.
