Replacing rear shocks on E190

I need to replace the rear shocks on my 1993 E190. Can you give me some hints on the easiest and safest way to replace? And, any other advise about replacing too.

Although, with a 2.8L, 8 cylinder engine and a sound system that features "6 tape players located above the radio that has yet another tape player in it for a total of 7 tape players, I guess this was Mercedes-Benz early answer to the multi disk changers that we know and love today" it would be quite a car!

Seriously, if the car is a 190E (W201) then the rear shocks can be changed by a competent DIY'er with the proper tools. In general, you'll need to lift the rear of the car onto jackstands, remove the rear tires, then use a jack under the lower control arm to assist in lowering and raising the arm to remove and replace the shock. The shock is fastened at the top by a bolt and bushing through the chassis in the trunk. The lower end of the shock is fastened to the lower control arm by a bolt as well.

MTI, The guy relisted the car. It's now a 2.8 litre 4 cylinder engine..

Anyway, I did the rear shocks on my 190e recently and it was very straight forward. If you've ever replace shocks before on any vehicle, this will be very similar. Inside the trunk, you will need to pull the plastic wall liners away to gain access to the top shock nut, but otherwise, it's a piece of cake.
