My wife's '96 E320 (W210) seems like it is not shifting into high gear. However, I am not used to driving her car and would like some help before I take to the garage. Can someone tell me what RPM their W210 E320 is doing at 60 MPH.
If it is not shifting into high, what could be the problem. It had been making that shift very rough at times. Thanks for the help. ![]() |

Mercedes run higher rpm's than most cars I've owned on the freeway
I also thought the car wasn't going in overdrive - it's probably ok My old 300E did like 3500 at 80 |

Shift the selector into "3" when on the highway and see if it downshifts. If it does, it is in 4th gear. I believe the 4th gear ratio on the 722.4 is 1:1. The is also no torque converter lockup clutch on your tranny.
