Hi Everyone,
The 500E I reciently purchased was upgraded with euro headlights which are nice however, the lenses are the same as the ones on my 94 E320. They have the rounded off ends to fit the updated hood/grill plus they are just fog lights(louvered) not driving lights (clear). If I order 92 500E euro lenses for the headlight units will they fit? If so, What is the part number for these lenses?

Hi Adam:

When I replaced my 300E Euros with 500E units, I carefully looked for differences ( Euro light differences, 500E vs 300E. ). The fog light reflector on the 300s seemed to be a different shape and had a different part number than the driving light reflector on the 500s, even though they shared common numbers for most other internal parts and everything else appeared to be the same between the two lights. Also, the inside area behind the lens is chrome on the 500 lights, and grey on the 300 units.

The part numbers are listed on the Hella web page. PUMA can supply new head light reflectors - Larry Bible bought some from them, I believe. They might be able to get the driving light reflectors as well as the lenses, although I am not sure they will be a snap-in fit (and you wouldn't have the chrome finish, if that is important to you). But even if they are, maybe the cost of new lenses AND reflectors might be more than the cost of new 500E lights after you offset the purchase price with the sale of your old ones? Maybe worth checking out.

Thanks for the info. From what I see, I'll have to take off the Euro glass from my 300E and make sure they fit the housings on the 500E.
