Brake problem??
Hi Guys,
I have a curious sound coming from my left front wheel (on my '90 300E). When I hit brakes fairly firmly, I get a grinding sound from brakes/wheel. No sound when I let off brake pedal. Some time back, I had a squeel coming from this brake, so I added MN paste (to back of pads only) - these are MB pads ATE rotors, BTW. Squeeling ended, but grinding took over shortly thereafter. I can see nothing unusual when visually inspecting pads, rotor. Interestingly enough, after washing car, grinding goes away for a while ... seems to get worse further from wash. I also have Kleen wheels, but have them on both front wheels and never have this problem from right front. Brake fluid fluished yearly, new OEM brake lines, brakes feel good and work good, but this grinding is abnormal. Any ideas? |

pull that wheel and take a look at you Kleenwheels disk. Dollar to a donut, it has scrape marks on it.
I tossed the one I had, made a terrible racket with new pads. They must be seated properly on the wheel to avoid scraping, and tend to move around when you take the wheel off. Check the wheel bearing clearance while you are at it, too. Peter
