Removal of Cam Oiler Tubes - 380SL
Is there a specific way to remove the plastic pieces on the cam oiler tubes on a 1982 380SL?
I'm not sure if I should just pull on them or what, since the replacement parts appear top have threads on them. I am replacing ball studs and should replace the past pieces during the repair. Can someone help me out? Thanks. |

They're not threads, rather grooves that provide a sort of friction fit into the holes in the cam towers. You can wiggle them out and push the new ones in. Be careful that you get all the pieces because the old ones are brittle and some will break.
When you put the tube in the cam towers, be sure that all the fittings go in evenly - like don't get the front all the way in with the rear not started.
