Now that I explained my story, could anything else have been damaged in the accidient? The control arm is a little scrapped up, but it seems like it's going to be fine.

Been there, done that. If you were going really slow (like my wife was), odds are good nothing was damaged. It can only pop out when the end of travel is reached, and spring pressure is transferred to the balljoint. That is why they tend to pop at low speeds. Speed bumps got mine.

If you were going fast enough, it could have bent the control arm and/or CA mounting brackets, among other things...

Anyways, get both sides done, including CA bushings.

Just another warning note to anyone listening: Check your balljoints! If they are worn, do not wait around for them to kill you. Learn from our mistakes. Imagine if this happened cresting a hill at speed...

I am not trying to defend myself, but this was the only way I could have gotten to work in the amount of time I had. Good thing is, it was a quite Sunday morning.

The Sables transmission blew last year (cracked piston I believe), I havn't updated my info in awhile. The car can only be used for parts, which just means I need to get it towed to a junkyard and get some money for it.

Oh and about my muffler, I got it over 2 years ago when the car was in good shape.

Also, I have been looking for a new/used cars, mainly looking at new Mazda6 s. I want a new/used car that I can rely on and right now I'm getting the Mercedes fixed and giving it to my younger brother (it will be safe when he drives it!)

I'm just taking my time to make sure I get something i'm going to like for awhile.

Thanks for all the responses, even the negative ones...

It's not gonna cost more than about $500 to get a new control arm installed, thats the worst he's loolking at. A running 300E, even in crap shape with 164,000 miles is worth more than that. All of my W124s have more than 200,000 miles on them and are running strong.
