1988 300 e inoperative hvac blower

I have a 1988 300 e here that belongs to a friend of mine---may not be friend for long....the blower motor is inop--where the heck is the thing and where is the resistor group located?Any ideas what to look for first-quick fixes etc...Please help me help a friend-Thanks.
