idle up solenoid wiring?

how do i install the wiring of a idle up solenoid. do i just get it from the AC compressor wire so that everytime i use the aircon and when compressor is running it will activate the solenoid and increase my idling? how about relays do i have to get one just for the solenoid. my AC compressor have a relay.

i have a 200 gas fintail 1967. originally it has no idle up system. i installed airconditioning thats why i need a idle up system.

I imagine adding a solenoid to that linkage might be tricky. Does the distributor have vacuum advance of retard? Many of the early cars had a retard that was cancelled when the AC went on.

Why not try a vacuum dashpot? If you have Zenith's, there might even be a mount for one. I have one from a parts carb that you can have.

I think those old 200's has a pair of single barrel solexes, with linkage not to suited to solenoids.
