1991 300E, 154k mi. The driver's seat is tilted to the right (left side high, right side low) a noticeable amount. I think it happened when one of the lift motors stopped working temporarily, but now both sides raise and lower again, so the tilt is kind of locked in. I searched the shop manual, and found information on removing the seat, but nothing on how to realign the lifting mechanism. Any ideas?

You will have to take out the seat and re-time the up down portion. I have seen this happen when one of the cables fails or there is a foreign object that obstructs operation.

What does the re-timing process involve? Any special tools or pieces of equipment?
thanks! anthony |
