Will a 300E trannsmission fit in a 300E 2.6?

I just found a nice tranny from a 300E, wondering if it will fit.

Thanks.

No, the engine is slightly different, 2.6L as opposed to a 3.0L in the 300E.

Check the numbers on the tranny. If the are the same, swap, if not you will have to find out if they are compatible.

They are both the same "family" and will physically fit, however.

they will 'bolt up', however some shift charecteristics will differ,
for example - how soon the shift occurs etc:- all of which are adjustable
go for it

If its any help, I have been running a 300E tranny in my wifes 190D (205 non turbo) for over 2 years without any problems (with a 190D torque converter of course)

They're only different in displacement. They're both m103 engines.
