500E Fault Codes
Hi Everyone,
I have eliminated most of the diagnostic module codes on the 500E exept for: 5-Exhaust gas recirculation inoperative and 19-Fuel injectors open/short or self-adaptation in LH-SFI control module (N3/1) at limit The number 5 code is intermittant but the 19 code will come back hours after it's reset. Anyone have an idea of what's causing this? Thanks, Adam

Oh yeah, one more thing. On a cold start, the engine idles very poor for about 2 seconds after the cold start fuel enrichment state and then runs fine. It does not seem to be a big problem but, I figure it's worth mentioning just in case that has something to do with my problem.
Thanks, Adam |

The EGR problem is either vacuum loss or plugged metal line from below the valve to the manifold.
For code 19 you need someone with a MB scanner that can read LIVE data from the LH-SFI computer. They need to look at long-term adaptations to see if the computer is at the control limit OR if there is a injector/wiring problem.

Adam . . . yes, the dreaded DTC#19. . . .
rears its ugly head again! One thing is sure, if you have a '92 - '95 MB, you will as some time experience this problem. But there's an affordable solution.
I've sent you email. |
