How I Fixed My Plastic Window Slide

When I got the door panel off I left the regulator in. Took my 4 inch grinder to the old slide pin head, ground it flush, gently drove it out. Put in new slide. Used needle nose visegrips to hold pin as far out (toward me) as possible. Grounded mig welder to regulator arm. Touched mig wire to pin just long enough to make good contact, put small weld on pin. Let pin cool so plastic doesn't melt. Repeat weld. Let cool. Etc etc til good head on pin. NO BEATING ON NEW PIN TO BRAD IT OVER AND BUSTING IT AND CURSING AND WHY DID I NOT GET AN EXTRA SLIDE CAUSE I KNEW THIS WAS GONNA HAPPEN!! This was 4 months ago and so far so good.
