A heartfelt thanks to everyone on this board who has been so helpful during the last year and a half. While I haven't posted recently I have been a regular lurker and now I will say goodbye. I finally sold the 'phatryd' -- my wonderful 87 420SEL (smoke silver/brown) and we're down to one MB Being a 2004 it'll be four years before I'm picking up the repair tab myself. (I am trying to talk the wife into a good W129 in the meantime, though.) I learned a lot about my 420 from reading the posts here, and a lot about myself from working on the car. I'm grateful for both experiences, and that such a wonderful community exists.

I would not be so quick to say good bye. During the entire time my autos were under warranty this site provided very valuable information on areas of interest that I could discuss with service personnel when I took the car in for service and warranty repair. I learned about my car from reading the posts on this site. Not just to wrench on it since it was under warranty but to compare what others with the same model were experiencing as far as problems and recommended solutions.

Stick around...I think you'll find it very informative.
