R-12 or R136. I know this may be a no brainer....but I'm really a lamen when it comes to cars. Just trying to save a few bucks. Thanks fellas...

Most likely R-134a. The amount isn't a fixed weight, but is determined by pressures & temperatures at the time of fill.

You can do some reading on This site. The section 609 stuff is about cars. Reading the manual is a freebie. Taking the test for an EPA cert cost $.

Norm,

I am 609 certified and have always charged by weight. I have looked HI and LOW for temperture/pressure charts like I used with R-12. For instance, at 90 deg ambiant temp the high side pressure should be XX psi and the low side should be XX psi. However I can't find anything similar for R-134. All I can find is what the pressure will be at a certain temp. Could you please explain how you charge a 134 system by the pressures.
Many thanks.
