85 380SE ICV updated hoses question

greetings garage gurus!

following an old thread on 380SE stalling, per MBDOC's recommendation, i got
the updated hoses to the idle control valve. here's my dilemma: new car to
me, so i don't have any manuals on the 116 engine yet. the updated hoses
have holes that appear to possibly be for a piece of vacuum line (these are on the little stubs that shoot off to the side at an angle and they would line up with each other perfectly if that's what's supposed to go there); however,
on the old hoses, those stubs are sealed deadends -- no vacuum line or anything, except on the hose from the valve to the intake there is a vacuum line present so no problem there. someone in the original thread said they had screws in the hoses that appeared to be for air adjustment (i guess). what's up here?

haven't been able to find any threads on search about proper installation of
the new hoses, so some guidance here would be much appreciated.

peace out!
