Great conversion tool here
http://www.joshmadison.com/software/ I installed mine in the left corner of the grill in a spot where it would not impede airflow.

There is no requisite position for the badge. On my 300E I placed it on the passenger side upper-left to conceal a ding in the plastic, and on my 500SEL placed it on the passenger side middle to conceal a ding in the aluminum.

Do you think its OK if I put mine just above my fuel fill door to cover a little ding there? I was wondering what to do about that.

I feel silly. 300SEL w/ 213k miles, and I didn't know the car was eligible for badge. Since I get all oil changes at local dealer, they certainly see mileage each time, but never mentioned it.
I will get the form from the dealer and process paperwork for the grill badge.

In my opinion, there are 2 places it can go, both on the front grill:
1) Where it looks good 2) To cover a chip or ding

Heh, just realized I'm eligible. Almost 200,000 miles. I probably wouldn't put it on the grille, looks tacky to me. I'd probably attach it somewhere on the console.

What I find droll is that on a couple of occasions I have seen a Mercedes on E-Bay advertised as low mileage, with under 100K, and there on the grille is a 250K badge, which denotes 156,250 miles. In one case the car was being peddled by a dealer that apparently was unable to count cylinders, as it was a 300D W123 and he claimed it had six. There were only five injector tubes, however.

Cubanbaptist, no need to feel silly. When my daughter and I went to our closest dealer to have our mileage verified, we had to ask three people about it before we found someone who knew about the program. The guy signed without looking at the cars and without saying a word. We got the impression that this dealership did not view us as prospective customers for a new MB so they weren't going to waste time or energy on us or the High Mileage award. We weren't treated rudely but just with indifference. Get your forms by calling the number I posted earlier. Good luck.

Like I have said before, most dealers are in it for the money and most of their help are just looking for a paycheck. Very few car nuts or people that have a passion for cars.
No money involved in the high mileage awards hence very little dealer interest.

Had the same thing done with me. It is more wasted time for the dealer. I guess. Getting off the subject. I saw other cars have grill badges such as Cadillacs, BMWs, Lexus, and SUVs. The grill badges they have are Country flags or symbols and other icons that I could not make out. |

What if you had to install a used cluster and the odo now reads 383897kms instead of the original 850000km or something? I'm in that boat. Do you have to have a completed log book and all services done at the dealer?
