Engine Error Codes
How do you read any error codes on a 1988 560sl
No one sells a reader for it Do you need a scan tool?? Any help would be appreciated |

Only a California car has computer codes that can be scanned from that type of car. IF that is a Calif car then there would be a LED & push button on the diagnostic connector under the hood.

Does that mean because mine is not a Calif. car
I have no way to find out the error code if the check engine comes on? |

The only item that can turn on the check engine lamp on a federal version 1988 560SL is the O2 sensor having NO activity for 5 minutes!
The computer has NO ability to store codes.

So what I am hoping you are telling me is that besides oxygen sensor
engine code fault ,there is no other fault codes for this engine You sure made my day if this is true Thanks loads for the help |
