My 93 500SEL has the standard sunroof. I'd like to switch it over to the glass roof with the slide back cover that was an option at the time. What parts do I need to this conversion? I'm assuming it would be a pretty simple process since the tracks are already there, etc...I'm just trying to cost out the project, I'm not looking to do it myself. Thanks for any info you guys can come up with.

Don't mess with leveling system, car looks great! There is a service bulletin on sunroof swap. Basicly you need headliner for roof, side flexible covers & glass roof panel. Did at least 10 of these in 1993 & 94. Leave fax # for bulletin.

How about a W201?

The difference is that the 140 body was eventually equipped with a factory moonroof, so the retrofit is straightforward. A moonroof was never offered for the 124 or 201 (alas...), so you can't just raid the parts-bin on this one.

Try American Sunroof Coversion (ASC)

I think thats their name.

They have an office out here in Los Angeles, California.

They install sunroofs in all cars, and moon roofs.

Perhaps they have a kit for your cars.
