The front passenger window is failing to go up or down.. when the button is depressed NO noise can be heard from the door panel?.. the rear window switch works?
what would be the best method to diagnose the problem?
( i do have the knoledge to take the panels off)
Where should i start?

Hi Jivesh,
The wiring coming into the front of the door may be cracking up. Try holding the switch down and slowly opening/closing the door. Easy way to troubleshoot. Assuming you've checked the fuses - I don't think all the windows share a fuse - but I'm not sure right now...

I had that problem on my 300d driver side.
It needed a new switch.
Open the door or turn on the
interior front light.
Push the window button, If the light dims
then you are drawing current
and your switch might be o.k. but the motor may be bad or bad connection to motor.
Look it up in archives.
I may have explained it wrong. Tired>

I have a window switch that works only when pushed partway down. When it's pushed all the way to the stop it doesn't work. That means the wireing is ok, the switch is the problem. You might be able to take it apart and fix it, and maybe even get back together again.

The contacts on the switches can carbon up with a lot of use. The switch can actually be removed disassembled, clean the contacts and reassemble. of course a new switch is relatively low cost.

Have you tried swapping the actual switches in the console? This is very easy and will eliminate this as the problem.

My driver side window switch went out on me. I found it to be bad the easy way. I swapped the passenger and driver side switches in the center console and voila! No need to remove the door panels. Switch can be ordered through Parts Shop.

Windows are fused right front, left rear and left front, right rear. You can try using the left front switch (if it's working)in place of the right front. If it works, then it's the switch. if not, either wiring, motor or possibly fuse (check them first)..

I think i have eliminated the switch as the problem.. when the switch is depressed withthe dome light on.. the light dimms.. so their is current trough the switch? .
so whats would the next proable step be..
So far ive..
1. Cheked fuse
2. checked switch
3??
how would i test the moter/wireing?

You will need to get inside the door and check the connector at the motor with a test light. If you get a good light with the switch actuated, then the motor is either jammed or the regulator is out of whack and stalling the motor..

No matter what you fix, there will always be something else to fix..
