I bit the bullet and had a reman MB trans installed at the dealer $3510 for the trans, they did not do the converter which was $1300. It has 2 year warranty, 8 hrs labor. I did get a lot of quotes from other shops (90 day warranty) at a lesser price.
There were also some complaints on the forums where some of these trans rebuilders did not cover the re-install of a defective one
