Folks,
I have a 92 500SEL (140 Body) with the door close assist pump that fails. I am able to pull the #9 fuse and replace it allowing it to work for a few days/week, but would like to fix it eventually. A new one ranges between $400 and $800 depending on who does it or whether I do it, but what I want to know is: Can this unit be fixed? Is there a common problem in the system that I should look at?
