W140 break light part number

Hi all, I have searched but have no luck. Please help

I am looking for the rear break light that sit inside the car compartment for W140. The one thats in the middle and attached to the rear windscreen. Does anyone have a part number? know where to buy? or have one available?

My car is a 92 W140 and they did not come installed. I would like to install one as I have people complaining that the standard break lights, the ones on the left and right rear, are very hard to see! Guess people are starting to get used to LED break lights!

BTW, it would help if someone can show some lights on how bad of a job is wiring for this?

Thanks in advance

Additional stop light was an option code 340. My 92 has it. To install it you need:
140 820 10 56 Additional stop light (specify color)
140 826 00 31 Console (specify color)
140 826 01 91 Seal ring
912010 005001 lock plate (x4)
I would call Phil to confirm this list.
The wire for the third light has to come from the separate output pin of the exterior lamp failure monitoring module. Maybe you car was prewired for it? Check for two poll connector with brown and black/red/green wires in the area between right c-pillar and rear seat behind removable panel.

thanks for the quick reply. Many part numbers!! Hope it wil not blow the bank!

BTW, "right c-pillar" and "rear seat behind removable panel", thats the area just above the wheel and not the trim next to the rear window screen where the seat belt comes out right? I guess I will have to remove the back seat, both the seat and the back cushions, to look. Correct?

Thanks again.

No you don't need to remove rear seat back nor cushion. Just pull edge protector in the seat back area and remove the cover panel over the wheel housing.

I might be wrong, but this post strikes me "wrong": Didn't all vehicles sold in the USA after something like 1986 have a requirement for the high mounted stoplight? I was sure all 140's had them. Or are you just converting to LED?
And people are REALLY making an effort to contact you to say "your brake lights are REALLY hard to see."? What does a person have to do, sir, make the WHOLE REAR WINDOW a brake light?

OK, to my own credit, I did check his personal profile and there is nothing there to show what country he is in.

If you could enter the country you live in in your personal profile, it would help clear up confusion like this. I'm happy to have a world wide representation here, but it helps to know this information.
Maybe you could check with Phil at Fastlane for the parts, I imagine he could ship overseas.

Thanks Gilly. I appologise for my wrong again.

Guys, I had a look at my car and have bad luck with the connector. See attached picture for what I see when I rip out the trim. I just cannot find the connector, no matter its left or right. Perhalps you guys can show some pointers? I can't even see any device that may give a connector at all. All I see is a bunch of wires.

On a side note, I have droped a screw driver behind the seat when I try to lift things up from behind. I figured I would have to remove the seat back rest to get the screw driver. Since the gas tank is behind a firewall, I guess the screw driver should't do any harm in there right? Except for noise if I drive around etc?? Correct? or should I take everything out to remove the screw driver to play safe!
