just bought new volt reg, but...
i might have the wrong one. just bought it from phil and i dont see where it would be located, the back of my 92 190e alt has a plastic cap on it the size of the alt. is the reg. under the plastic or did i buy the wrong regulator?
im moving out of state this weekend and really need to replace it before i go . thanks, ron |

I would guess under the plastic cap, which is probably there to increase cooling air flow and to keep water out of the altenator. Take it off (I can't tell you how, sorry!) and see.
the regulator screws into the body casting of the alternator, 2 screws. Old one will just pull out, but you will have to cock the new one away from the center to get the brushes in, then push down to get the screws in, they are nearly half an inch longer... Peter
