1996 C36 dash/console Removal

My headrest switch on the center console is not releasing the rear headrests and someone I know had the same problem and they said that it could be the vacuum line behind the centre console behind the switch. My rear headrests remain in the upright position. Does anyone have any experience with this and how does the console come out?
