96 W210 e320 DOHC 6 transmission

Am new to the forum and seeking for some info. I am sure this question has been asked before, but was unable to get a firm answer thru the search option. I wanted to know what type of transmission a W210 96' 3.2 dohc 6 has? I do know that it is a 4 speed. But what type of AT fluid does it require when servicing? MB fluid or Dexron III.

Thanks

tranny oil

I debated and debated.....Saturday I finally changed my fluid with Dexron 3 . If I ran the car hard or lived in a climate like Arizona, I would most certainly do Mobil 1.

I just got this 1988 300e with 110k miles on it.. maintained meticulously by a elderly couple.

This weekend I did the steering damper and transmission fluid/filter. Took a little longer than I wanted..but had to go get the 5mm hex socket. It was pretty easy to drain the torque converter as well.

I don't have a lift so when I dropped the pan, I did get some fluid on the floor.
Probably didn't need to change the rubber gasket, but did so anyway. I will probably drain it again in 15k miles...and then at 30, do a new filter and gasket.

Also used Forvever Black on bumpers, doors handles, etc. Great product, hope it holds up. The steering damper had nothing left..you could pump it with ease. New damper tightens things up just a touch. Great investment for 20 something dollars.

Have a slight oil drip...must be from timing cover. Other than that great car. Oh...also changed out t-stat, flushed coolant and put MB in. Also changed out voltage regulator. This is all being done for preventative purposes.

It already has new OVP, fuel, and A/C relays.

Used to drive a Q45

I would like to find another just like this one.
