cold start valve
I have been having problems with a longer time to start my 560sl 1988
since it got colder during the first cold start of the day or when left sitting for a while 15 seconds , then idles fine Checked the cold start valve took it out hooked it up and started car no mist /spray What voltage goes to the valve , so I can jumper it out to find if it is the valve or some other circuit that feeds it? Is there any fuses in the circuit? Any help would be appreciated

I can't recall how your cars coldstart is activated.
The main reason is that in over thirty years working on MBs I have only seen maybe two defective cold start valves and their problems were both leaking fuel. I have never seen a cold starting problem due to the cold start valve. If any part of your problem exists when the starter is not engaged then you need to look elsewhere. I'm guessing you don't have any starting enrichment. The check is to look at EHA current during cranking.

I put 12 volts to the valve while there was pressure in the system
It sprayed a nice pattern You were correct It looks good as new I also cleaned the IAC valve with cleaner because it looked dirty The engine is warm now cause of all the starting so I got to wait I read some threads on EHA Will check this out Thanks for the help
