95 S420 steering not centering equally R & L, and pulls right slightly ?
What alignment error could cause less centering effect after a Right turn than after a Left turn? The L turn feels normal and quickly comes back to approx. straight ahead, but the Right turn is very sluggish in its centering effect.
I notice this after right turn after a stop sign or light. Steering wheel does not "self center" quickly as it once did, OR, like it does when I turn left.
About a week ago, under Starmark Warranty my dealer replaced:
both tie rods
center drag link and
Right upper A arm w/ top ball joint.
The rubber boots had broken and grease was leaking-- There was no free play yet, but they could not get the boot replacement kits so they replaced those parts in order to get new ball joints with new boots attached. The car was aligned at the dealer after the new parts were installed. On the way home I noticed that car pulled very slightly to the RIGHT all the time, even on interstate (nearly flat surfaces) and required the wheel to turned 2-3 degrees left to keep it moving straight ahead.
I have another appointment set for alignment person to re-check everything.
I just want to be better informed when I talk to the tech who does the aligning. What alignment defects (or worn parts) could cause these driving problems ??
Knowledgable advise appreciated.
