Identifying a vacuum line

Hi,

I did a search but was unable to find what i was looking for, Im sure this info must be out there....

The car is a 90 300CE,

I found a broken vacuum line, 1.8" in diameter, it attaches to a yellow vacuum valve directly over the master cylnder. The hose apears to be Orange/Red with a grey stripe and headed under air intake for the ventalation system. I took out the glove box but was unable to find a matching hose. I know it affects the climate control, and need to replace it, but cant find where it ends...

I have the service CDs but didnt find a vacuum diagram for the climate control.

Any input you can provide is greatly appreciated...Thanks in advance....

You can just splice it where the break is and not have to replace the whole thing.

Sounds like the vacuum line that would go to the vacuum resevoir for the climate control system. On the W201 it goes from the dirvers side above the vacuum booster under the blower motor and the battery tray and out the passenger side into the fender well where the vacuum resevoir is located. Not sure where it is located on yours but probably the same area.....

Mine was going by the battery tray but was covered by a thin plastic cover over the line, the line went through the plastic rubbery type sheath. It only took me a few dozen times to actually find it. I had to take the inner fender plastic off to find the resevoir and wiggle the vacuum line and then I found it. It looks more like a wire than a vacuum line at first until you realize it is inside a protective sheath and not in the open like all the other lines.

Vacuum Leak 1980 300 Sd

Can someone help pour soul?
Initially lost climate control, auto locks, and engine shut off. Disconnected and plugged green/black line {climate control?}, from plastic tube off vacuum pump. Pump is OK. Able to restore autolocks, and shut off, but vacuum leaks down after engine shut off. I have MB Model 116 Service Manual CD rom, but find vacuum systems diagram are not helpful as far as locating component. Do I have a second vacuum tank in addition to the one in the trunk? Where do I get a miti vac? Any help is appreciated!!
