E420 (124.034) optional transmission?

Greetings,

With my car starting to show it's age (not like a fine wine), I am reviewing options for a rebuilt transmission and new rear differential. The stock 4-speed transmission in my 95 E420 is the 722.366; given the differential plans and subsequent driving habits, I want the replacement to be over-engineered to handle stress.

Has anyone transplanted a rebuilt 722.370 transmission from the 5-litre platforms into a 400E/E420? Would there be any measurable benefit (stronger widgets) to doing so? Copy of the ATSG manual is inaccessible at the moment.

Thanks in advance,
-DM
