I think there are unused vacuum passthroughs? by the brake master cylinder that get you behind the instrument cluster.

What are you trying to pass through?

Since the 400E dash is one piece, removing bolts that hold it to the chassis on the passenger side won't be of much help. I take it you've removed the under dash panel, above the passenger's feet, the passenger floor side panel and removed the glove box. You should be able to see the black rubber pass throughs.

you could just drill a hole after making sure there is nothing on the other side for you to hit (brake lines, wiring, etc.). you can buy a little box of grommets of various sizes at pep boys for $1 to put in the hole and make it safe to run wiring through.

its the underside piece im having trouble with. The vinyl part that surrounds the air bag. Im trying to get passthroughs for my nitrous pressure gauge and a/f gauge and power supply for my switches. But yea i cannot get the underside piece off the mat is up but the interior color piece will not come out any farther.

*edit* it would help if i could do it on the passenger side because that is where my solenoids are mounted.
