Air tubes

Check the air tubes leading to the fuel injectors. If they are not connected properly, it will not start.

Is the fuel relay working? Do you have fuel at the FD?

Check the round plug in the centre of the EZL and ensure it is plugged in well. If it is off, it will not start.

You just need 3 things: spark, fuel and compression.

I have fuel going through. When I've tried to start it before, I've gotten combustion but its coming back up though my air intake system. I do not have my air filter on yet. Once the engine cranks up, I'm planning on killing it then finish bolting on the air intake etc.

Fuel - check

Spark... well I'm getting flames so I assume I'm getting the spark since it's not my diesel

Spark - check

Compression. I'm taking that on faith, but its a VERY safe assumption on my part.

As I said, I'm getting flames, I just don't think I'm getting them when in the cycle I need them.

Thanks for the reply!

Timing

Since you said "the timing is correct", I assume that means all of the timing marks on the cams and towers and on the crank all line-up? But then you say you are not get flames in the cycle that is needed. ????

I hope someone with greater skill and knowledge than me responds, you've tried everything I think of.

Yes, mechanically, the cams are timed to the crankshaft, they all line up close enough to perfect (right side / passenger's side) cam is about 2-degrees off after the head work.

Does well does the distributer self time? Can you just set it in anywhere and it finds where it needs to be, or do you have to get it close to beginwith before it finds where it needs to be? This is about the only think I can think of. I'll try fiddleing with it this weekend when I have the time, but until then I'm hoping to get some good ideas to try insead of/if that doesn't work.

Thanks for the replys!

Are the spark plug wires properly connected? Follow the Zundfolge markings on the wires and double check everything.
