Passenger Side mirror replacement
I need to replace the passenger side mirror. The piece has tro come off the door as the bracket inside is broken. Is there a docuemtn somehwere that explains it

info for the 85 380, should be close to your 86 420sel
Real easy to remove. I actually made a replacement piece for a broken internal bracket out of aluminum, with JB Weld and pop rivets....but if you have a replacement, that's the way to go.

You need to remove the door panel to get to the electrical connection on most Ford models.

Your trim piece above the door panel has a large plastic hook that requires you to pull vertically as you remove, otherwise you'll break it. The rest is easy, two or three phillips screws and disconnecting the wire harness for the power assist, and the mirror is off!

Sorry about the no details, guess you had to be clairvoyant to know the make, model and year. I was sitting on a call and I just typed this up as I was day dreaming about fixing the mirror.
