ok I give up...where's the oil filter?

Help!! I have a 92 190E with the 2.3L 4cylinder engine.

If it is like my '94 6 cylinder it is a cartridge in a housing - not an external filter housing like a fram or the like. Hope this helps, but specifically on your engine, I don't know. Should have torque specs on the cover too

I found it. It is on the top of the engine toward the rear on the drivers side???

I guess I am too used to American cars. Thanks anyway!!

That is it. There is a small stainless steel washer that goes under the filter housing cover hold-down bolt head, and the kit usually has a copper washer to seal the drain plug, and sometimes a second copper unit for the oil cooler drain if the car is so equipped.
