'90 300TE 4matic Belt to bypass A/C
Does anyone know if there is a belt that can be used to bypass the A/C compressor on a 1990 300TE 4matic. I have a frozen compressor and want to wait to fix it. Do you know if MB makes a belt for this model w/o A/C? I can not get the hex head screw out of the back of the compressor manifold. I need to get my teenage son back on the road to run errands ;]!!!
Thanks, Cal 1990 300TE 4matic 245kmiles

If the 4matic uses the same engine as the 2 wheel drive 300E, the answer is yes because probably half the 300E's in Europe were delivered with no ac.

I did this on my 1993 Ford Taurus. Im sure you can find a belt probably from a Euro version. You will also need to get a belt routing diagram. On my Taurus I had to physically remove the compressor so that it would not be in the way of the new belt routing. For that car the belt was redially available anywhere and both belt routing diagrams were printed under the hood.
