I have read from another forum that there are two types of fuel injector cleaners, Catalyst based and Solvent based.

The Catalyst based cleaners like Techron (USA) and Redline SI-1 / SI-2 are better and more expensive. Techron & Redline SI-1 & SI-2 also assist in removing carbon build up from the combustion chamber.

Solvent based cleaners such as STP fuel injection cleaner are less effective.
