The same thing happened to me yesterday. Today I pulled the fuse out to check it and one of the end caps stayed behind. That's my one beef with the German cars, those fuses can look OK on cursory inspection, but be blown when one looks closer.

Now if I can figure out my tempermental A/C blower...
