Temperature low ,heater help....
Have a problem with our '86 300sdl. Temperature gauge stays at around 40-50 degrees only. Up to the second line on the gauge or less.... Heater is really weak for some reason. Even if you turn the setting to the red mark... The blower works. Just wouldn't blow hot air....Having a hard especially with the cold season. Any help will be most appreciated....

Absolutely classic symptoms of a failed engine thermostat. Get a new one, and preferably at the dealer or here at FastLane, and you'll fix both problems.

Ah yes winter has arrived.
My wife picked me up at the airport tonight in my daughters 240D. Its 30 degrees here tonight and the cars operating temp would not go above 55 degrees. And the heat was weak. A classic thermostat failure in the open mode. So time for a new one. Dave
