I replaced the parking brake shoes on my 1993 600SEL. Had a hard time getting the rotor/drums on. The adjustment on the brake shoe was turned to its lowest position i.e. not expanding the shoes. The rotor won't turn by hand and the brake pedal is all way up and can't be depressed, The cable needs to be slacken. I went under the car and tried to find an adjustment where the front cable links up with the two back cables. I see a gear mechanism there but I can't see any nuts or screws for adjusting. The mechanism is above the drive shaft and the exhaust system so it is very difficult to see how the linkage works. Can anyone help? Thanks

Did you get your parking brakes adjusted ok? I also have a 1993 600SEL, and the parking prake system works ok, just not enough stopping power to pass inspection. I read the alldata adjustment procedure for the rear, center adjuster and will be trying that next weekend (Xmas 2011 today). If I have to, I will replace the inner parking brakes shoes, but hopefully not. Any suggestions?
