I've heard to adjust the values every 15k miles but I'm wondering if anyone has noted how much change in the settings do they see at 15k.

It would seem that stretching it a bit may not be that big of a deal.

I know that might be considered a bit crude to those diligent maintainers out there but hey you're talking about a bit of work perhaps without much gain.
