MB Transmission (Jeep)
I'm looking for help? I have a 2004 Jeep CRD 2.7l inline MB diesel with a MB 5-speed transmission. The Jeep was in a wreck then repaired. There was no reason for the transmission to stop working other than the Jeep dealer had to work on the computer. Now it will not shift out of 2nd gear (about 3,000rpm @ 80km/hr) the best it will do. So I disconnected the wiring harness from the transmission to see what would happen. The Jeep would not shift out of 1st gear this way. Now my question is how to fix it. Can I simply change some wires around or do I have to fix the problem via the computer. Also, I can not get the Jeep dealer to understand my problem. They keep saying I need a new transmission. Is there some way to check the transmission in the jeep in order to make sure? By the way I'm in Romania and it seems to me the Jeep dealer is not very well trained.

Sounds like it may be in limp home mode. Are they able to pull any fault codes?
