Cold Air Intake (Ebay) ???
Check this out:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7949004946&category=38634 I know these have been described as snakeoil, but what I *do* like about them (performance issues aside) is that they look like they'd make getting to the oil filter on my 2.3L 190e a SNAP during oil changes! No more removing the air filter assy. What I need to know is what rubber boot they're using. The rest I could manage on my own, I suspect. Certainly not worth $140! Any ideas? Thanks, Chris

All you need is a boot from an old VW with CIS on it and the pipe and filter and you can save about $100 and do it yourself.

I really do not see much of a boost in performance due to the intake air temp. I know you will see a increase if you can get the filter where the air is cooler than under hood temps.

Dude, I dont know how you can live with a messy looking engine compartment like that!
I love to look a mechanical things, but it looks like a grenade went off in there! |

Granted, it's messier than my Mustang's or any of the Mercedes diesels (talk about simpicity!), but it's very easy to work on my 2.3L (which, btw, is less crowded than the 2.6). Chris
