My 1992 300CE M-104 engine, Ke-jetronic fuel system (86,000 miles & has passed the California Smog) has a hard starting problem. The hard starting happens when the engine is hot sometimes; it takes about 2 ignition tries before the engine will fire, and takes about 6 to 8 seconds long before the car will start. When it starts, it blows out a little black smoke.
The following items have been replaced: temperature sensor for fuel injection system, distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs, fuel filter and fuel accumulator. I've removed the cold start injector and visually inspected the cold start injector for leaks and fuel pattern - - seems to be fine. Since I don't have a fuel pressure gauge, I cannot perform the test. I am a mechanic, but not too familiar with Mercedes' fuel injection system. Overall, the car runs smooth with lots of power. Open for any helpful advise....
Thanks....
