300E difference in bumper covers?
Hello all,
I trashed the bumper cover on my 87 300e today by hitting a chunk of ice. I have a chance to buy a cover from a 1990-95 300E fairly cheap. Does anyone know what the difference is between the 86-89 covers and the 90-95 covers? Will the 90-95 fit and fasten correctly onto the 86-89 model? Thanks for the help! Greg |

I think it's a trick question - the 86 to 89 is the same as the 90 to 93, but I think the 94-95 is different. Get the part number and a dealer parts guy could tell you for sure.

86-89 124's had grey trim over the bumper cover.
As of 1990, there is a polished stainless strip of trim on top of the bumper (same time the polished inserts were added to door handles, and the body side claddings changed) Not sure if the bumper cover interchanges between the 2(I'm at home), but I'd be surprised if it did.
