You might look at post #3 of this tread. Since ignition switches almost never go bad and K38s go bad all the time, experience is the factor.

Yes , K38 and NSS are both common , both in line, one after the other, and I find NSS to be more common than K38..either/or... the main point is to look for power at the NSS from the AT relay to decide which one.
....and even then, it can still be the ign sw. That is why we have to go look. I remember the last post very close to this one and the same toss up turned out to be the NSS. The diagnosis is the same..there is an open in a series line and those are the parts in the line.... follow the sequence and it will tell the tale... I am glad you found it and congradulate you on being able to follow the post. Now you know how the circuit works and will be prepared to fix/diagnose it next time one of these component fail. Thanks Arthur, I will trace it out this afternoon, too bad the car is in a parking lot 25 miles from home. Do you have any thoughts about the gages going dead and the ABS light coming on while driving prior to the no start problem?
