Rick, I am really enjoying this topic, thank you!! We are a small group of W116 300SD owners. As one parts salesman told me when I called to inquire about repair panels for my car. He said,"your car is dying and you should just park it somewhere." I don't agree, and judging by all the posts in the vintage section a Mercedes never dies it just becomes more beautiful, I think it is exciting that we have these beautiful machines to care about and learn from. I love the W116 body style. It is going to take a W123 to get me to move on. I would like a 300CD turbo or a 300TD turbo as my new addition someday.
