606 Head Gasket Poll

In light of the recently discovered blown head on my '95 E300D (see thread here), I was currious if anyone else has had the same thing happen on their 606-equipped vehicle. If you have had this problem occur, it might be interesting to note which cylinder(s) were effected.

Thanks for the feedback.

Vehicle: 1995 E300D
Mileage: ~175,000
Leak location: Below exhaust port, #6 cylinder.

My particular car has been noticable leaking for about 5000 miles, but I don't know if it was leaking prior to that but at a reduced rate.

Quality is going downhill in MBZ-land...

Yep, I had the head gasket start to leak in the same area. Of course, the engine had almost 330,000 miles on it when it went…

I guess that some people are right - MBZ quality really isn’t what it used to be; aren’t these cars supposed to go one million miles without even changing the oil?
